"The Implementation of BRADD3 for New Designs"
This
presentation is given to reintroduce the Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation’s (PENNDOT) Bridge Automated Design and Drafting
Version 3 (BRADD) system to the bridge design community. BRADD is a
computer software program developed to automate the highway bridge design
process from problem definition through contract drawing development for typical
single span bridges in
In
January 1995, PENNDOT began the process of developing a Load and Resistance
Factor Design version of its existing BRADD-2 software. This new version of
PENNDOT’s BRADD software, called BRADD, was not only intended for PENNDOT’s
internal use like BRADD-2, but was also to be licensable to consultants. After
almost 10 years of development and testing, including the required change from
metric units only to dual English/metric units, the software is now available
for licensing.
This
presentation will focus on:
What is BRADD? A brief history of the software from 1983-Present
Why use BRADD? A discussion on the reasons consultants should use BRADD.
