Job Description:

PBS&J, established in 1960 is a multi-disciplined consulting engineering firm providing a wide range of design and services nationally and internationally. PBS&J has over 3000 employees and is ranked 11th in Engineering News Record’s list of True Transportation Firms.

We are looking for an experienced Bridge Engineer to help increase our market share across Pennsylvania. The position could be based in either  Canonsburg, PA or Harrisburg, PA, and would support the PA Structures Group.

Job Requirements:

Individuals should have a B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering and be a registered PE in Pennsylvania with 15+ years of experience; with an emphasis on PennDOT or PA Turnpike bridge design and plan presentation. Individual should possess strong team and project leadership skills, business development skills, and excellent communication skills.

 

Design-Build experience would be a plus.

TriGold is a professional joint venture design and construction management partnership working on the Pittsburgh based North Shore Connector Light Rail Transit Project.  This project will extend the existing light rail system 1.2 miles from Gateway Station underneath the Allegheny River via twin bored tunnels to an underground station on the North Shore. The underground alignment will transition to an elevated section and will subsequently end at a second station near Heinz Field. 

Our project team is currently conducting a search for individuals possessing heavy transit construction experience in the following disciplines:

Title: Cost Control Engineer
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Minimum Experience: 8 years

 Job Description: The primary duties of the Cost Control Engineer are to assist Project Managers with planning and monitoring all cost and financial aspects on related projects. Coordinates cost estimates, cost control and revisions on related projects.  May be involved in the coordination of several projects concurrently, and works as an integral member of project teams. Maintains communications and records of cost information and related cost estimating sources, cost indexes and references.  Relocation assistance will not be provided. 

Requirements: BS in Engineering, Construction Management or related field. 8+ years experience in cost engineering/management for construction projects required. Job Description: The primary duties of the Senior Inspector include planning, scheduling and coordination of construction procurements and supervision of field construction activities involving general construction and/or trade subcontractors. Responsible for quality and safety throughout such activities utilizing company resources for guidance and support. Maintains accurate daily records of construction site activity and produces required reports on progress, safety, quality, schedule and budget status. Coordinates with other project team groups such as design, procurement, etc. Relocation assistance will not be provided. 

 Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent is required.  10+ years experience in RE&I or construction of heavy underground construction projects with 10+ years experience in RE&I or construction of underground transit stations or bridge/aerial guideway construction and/or systems wide experience and 5+ years experience as a chief, senior, or lead inspector is required. Supervisory and interpersonal skills are strongly preferred. 

Title: Office Engineer
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Minimum Experience: 10

 Job Description:The primary duties of the Office Engineer include performing complex construction assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection, and modification of standard construction engineering techniques and procedures.  Responsible for project field coordination, documentation, cost monitoring, bidding, estimating and scheduling.  Receives, issues and tracks RFIs, submittals and other required data. Relocation assistance will not be provided. 

Requirements: BS in Civil Engineering is required. 10+ years experience in design, construction, or RE&I of underground projects with 5+ years in design, construction, CM, or RE&I of underground transit station projects or bridge/aerial guideway construction is required.  Prior experience in transit construction, cut and cover tunneling, power/systems and support of excavation/foundations is highly desired.  Interpersonal skills are strongly preferred.

Title: Senior Project Primavera P3 Scheduler

Job Description:

The primary duties of the Sr. Forensic Scheduler require a highly energetic, detail oriented individual who will assist the Project Manager with planning and monitoring all aspects of major transportation projects. This Specialist will prepare base schedules, perform schedule reviews, monthly schedule update analysis, time impact analysis, investigate and analyze schedule impacts, monitor and document construction progress, identify, track and assist in resolution of construction issues/conflicts, act as liaison between the Client, Contractors or Designers concerning construction issues/conflicts and plan revisions. The Specialist shall monitor, review and report to the Project Manager and/or clients, the status of schedules with regard to construction contract schedule compliance with the construction contract specifications, and shall review and provide written summary progress reports stating acceptability or unacceptability of the schedules. Experience with cost and resource loaded schedules required. Cost control background is a plus. Dispute Resolution Board experience is preferred. Relocation assistance will not be provided.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree required. 10+ years Construction Scheduling experience. Proficiency using Primavera P3 Project Planner Version 3.1 scheduling software required. On-site light rail transit construction experience strongly preferred.

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent degree is required.  The successful candidate will possess at least two or more years of structural experience, including experience with PennDOT bridge design software.  EIT is preferred.
